The sound of gears turning and clicking filled the air as a pair of scientists worked on their latest creation. The light ivory ‘skin’ felt as smooth as ceramics. The synthetic hair shot up in large spikes of black and red with gold bangs framing the face. A few more of these bangs ran up the hair, creating a truly unique sight. The chest was open, revealing a mass of wires, gears, synthetic organs, and among the mechanical parts, a single real human organ sat. A human heart was suspended in a preserving gel, wires and other what-nots protruding from it, unmoving for the time being.

“Only a few more programs to put into the computer.” One of the scientists said, typing some letters into a program. Wires ran from the computer to the human-like object on the table. After a few more codes, the heart started to slowly beat, moving the preserving gel around it silently.  The gears started to slowly turn. The two scientists watched the computer as various codes and information scrolled on the screen. The heart began to beat at a faster rate, matching the pace of a normal human heart.

“I think you did it, Dartz!” one of the scientists cried out, looking at the creation in awe. Dratz smiled triumphantly.

“Of course I did it, Mai.” He said, “Was there any ever doubt?”

“A little,” Mai said. “To be fair, no one has ever made a real android before.”

Dartz and Mai moved to the android that was strapped to the table. At the push of a button, the table slid into an upright position, making the android appear to be standing. Dartz removed the wires the came out of the chest cavity, and closed the panel. The only indication the there was an opening was if you ran your hand over the smooth feeling skin, you would feel the seam that ran down the center of the chest. The two humans held their breath.

The eyes slowly opened, revealing deep crimson orbs. The eyes blinked a few times, automatically adjusting to the soft light in the room. On the computer screen, the final files were running.

Downloading…..

Knowledge_Program.exe has finished downloading

The android blinked as it’s memory data was being added via a wire that ran into the back of it’s neck. All of the knowledge that was being added had been collected through endless hours of studying by the scientist. His sensors for sight had been activated, but he could not turn his head to look at the world around him. His sensors for smell suddenly turned on, and the android was assaulted with a mass of different scents. He didn’t particularly… what was the word… ‘enjoy’ the sensation, and shut that sensor down. Across the computer screen, a message flashed;

Android_10.18 has shut down Sensory_Program/Smell.exe

Tracing fault….

No fault

Running program….

Program back online

The android’s sensory for smell turned back on. It mentally sighed. It guessed that this was a necessary function. The sensor for taste turned on next, but the android didn’t taste anything. It ran a fault tracer. No fault was found. Maybe humans taste was limited? That was it’s only guess.

The sensor for touch went online and the android could feel the cold table beneath itself. It would have shivered if it’s body was able to move. Being dressed in only a pair of, what did humans call them…? Ah, right, boxers. Being dressed only in a pair of those, the android was cold from the metal table, not that it’s metal body was helping.

Finally, the sensor for hearing came online, and it could hear the soft clicking of gears fill the air. It could also hear the two humans in front of it holding their breath. It blinked in confusion. Why were these humans not breathing? Could it be that he scared them?

Running program Movement.exe…..

The android’s hand twitched. It tried moving it’s small appendages on it’s hand, and found that they curled inward. The same happened with the over hand.

Movement.exe was successfully installed

The android tried to move it’s head. It turned to the side. It turned it’s head the other way, the up, then down. It looked around as other parts of it’s body went online. The two human watched with interest as the android surveyed it’s surroundings.  Dartz finally spoke up after a few minutes of silence.

“Hello, can you hear me?”

The android’s head turned to the human in response. It raised a slim, elegant eyebrow at the human. The humans could speak? That was new. He pulled up files on the human in front of him, the information being displayed next to the human in virtual reality. Of course, the human couldn’t see it; It was programs just behind the androids eyes that made files and pictures appear in it’s vision.

So his name was Dartz, huh?

“Let’s get you off that table, shall we?” Dartz suggested before the android could speak. He stepped forward and began to unstrap the android from the table. Soon, it was standing on it’s feet.

“Alright. Mai, run the programs once again, make backup files of everything.” Dartz said, walking around the android.

“There is just one more program that needs to be run.” Mai said, sitting down at the desk.

“Which one?” Dartz asked

“Color for his sight.” Mai answered. “Right now, he can only see primary colors.” It was true. Everything was in grayscale for the android. The only thing’s that had color to them was Mai’s thick yellow, blonde as the humans called it, hair and one of Dartz’s eyes, which was also yellow. Mai hit a few keys on the keyboard, and suddenly colors off all shades and saturation levels sprang to life in the android’s vision. The android gasped silently at both the bright and dull colors around it.

“10.18’s sight is now fully active.” Mai announced. 10.18? Was that the android’s name? It shrugged. It got the job done, so it didn’t have a problem with it. 10.18 looked at it’s body, pale ‘skin’ with a well-toned appearance. The look was probably to attract other humans. It would have to explore it’s body in greater detail later.

“10.18,” Dartz said. 10.18 looked up. “We are going to ask you to do something.”

Do something? It didn’t sound too hard. 10.18 nodded, a jerky motion.

“What-is-it?” it asked, it’s deep voice coming out chunkily. Mai hit a few more keys on the keyboard.

“We need you to go to a high school and be a student there.”

High school? Oh, that large building that adolescence went to, all to gain knowledge.

“Alright.” 10.18 said, it’s voice a lot smoother than before. “Why?”

“Think of it like a game.” Dartz said. 10.18 nodded, it’s motions a lot smoother than before. 10.18 loved games, it found out. It loved them more than anything.

“I’ll do it.” It said. Dartz nodded in approval.

“I knew you would.”
I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh

A sudden amount of inspiration hit me one night and this was the outcome XD

Oh, and if you're wondering, 10.18 is the character's birthday (I think.... there really is no clear one for him XD) so I just made that his temporary name! you all can probably guess who it is, though.... the description of him gives it away

10.18, for the moment, will be referred to as "it" because it doesn't know yet what gender it is yet
